Lift Station 30 Improvements

Project Summary

The Heatherwood & Heather Gardens Pump Station Rehabilitation Project aims to enhance the infrastructure serving the Heather Gardens Lift Station (LS30) and the City of Larkspur’s Heatherwood stormwater pump station. This project involves the demolition of the existing combined facilities and the construction of separate pumping stations for sanitary sewer and stormwater management. The scope includes elevating critical electrical equipment above the FEMA 100-year flood elevation to address climate change impacts. The new infrastructure will feature a shared concrete platform, along with new concrete wet wells, valve vaults, submersible pumps, backup power generators, and upgraded electrical controls and alarms that meet both District and City standards. The project is being co-managed with the City of Larkspur under a reimbursement agreement, with a total budget of $3,930,333. RVSD will cover $1,980,300, while the City will contribute $1,950,033.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance system resilience, as identified in the 2021 Infrastructure Asset Management Plan, which designated LS30 as a high priority due to its risk score. By separating the pumping functions and upgrading equipment, the project aims to reduce the risk of sanitary sewer spills and improve overall system reliability.

Project Update - July 28, 2025:

Construction is now underway, with precast wet wells now installed at both the sanitary and stormwater facilities. Bypass systems are in place to keep both systems running smoothly.
