In July 2018, RVSD transitioned to 100% renewable energy through Marin Clean Energy’s (MCE) "Deep Green" program.
This transition supports the sustainability goals outlined in the 2016 RVSD Strategic Plan and aligns with the climate action and resiliency objectives of local governments and the State of California. The change resulted in a minimal increase in annual operation and maintenance costs of less than 0.05%, which is approximately $8,000 per year.
According to MCE, RVSD is the first sanitary district in their service area to adopt 100% California renewable electricity through Marin Clean Energy’s Deep Green service.
